Fire by the Sea

Josiah Rivers

Fire by the Sea pushes Josiah Rivers into deeper, more experimental territory, fusing reggae with Afro House, Dub and smooth R&B. Driven by a huge rolling bassline, hypnotic percussion and a distinctive kalimba-inspired electronic melody, the track captures the magnetic contrast between flames burning on the shoreline and the endless movement of the ocean beside them. Josiah's deep vocal moves through an intimate story of attraction, rhythm and a night suspended from the outside world. Darker, heavier and more club-oriented than the album's earlier records, Fire by the Sea marks the moment Josiah's authentic reggae foundation begins evolving into a sound entirely his own.
