Kingston After Dark

Josiah Rivers

Kingston After Dark takes Josiah Rivers into deeper territory, fusing modern reggae with Dancehall, Dub and smooth R&B. A distinctive three-note bass motif, tight drums, atmospheric organ and hypnotic low-end groove create the sound of a city transforming after sunset. Josiah moves beyond the postcard image of Jamaica, capturing streetlights, late-night workers, ambition, struggle and the countless lives moving through Kingston after midnight. Darker and more rhythmically aggressive than the album's opening tracks, Kingston After Dark reveals another side of Josiah Rivers while keeping authentic reggae rhythm at its core.
