Ocean Between Us

Josiah Rivers

Ocean Between Us is Josiah Rivers' emotional exploration of love across distance, blending modern reggae with smooth R&B and atmospheric electronic production. A distinctive wave-like synth sequence moves above deep dub-reggae bass as Josiah tells the story of two people living on opposite sides of the ocean, connected by late-night calls, shared memories and the belief that their separation is temporary. Rather than romanticising distance, the song captures the ordinary things people miss most—the sound of someone's laughter, their shoes by the door and simply having them physically beside you. Hypnotic, melodic and deeply rhythmic, Ocean Between Us turns thousands of miles of separation into one central promise: there may be an ocean between them, but there is nothing between their hearts.
