Under the Same Sun

Josiah Rivers

Under the Same Sun brings together the Jamaican and African sides of modern global rhythm, blending authentic reggae with Afrobeats, Afro-Pop and soul. Driven by a deep syncopated bassline, layered African percussion and a distinctive thumb-piano-inspired melody, the track follows ordinary people living different lives around the world yet sharing remarkably similar hopes, struggles and relationships. Rather than preaching unity through slogans, Josiah Rivers finds it in everyday humanity—parents raising children, people working, dreaming, loving and carrying struggles others cannot see. Warm, uplifting and highly danceable, Under the Same Sun carries a simple message: our roads may be different, but we're travelling beneath the same sky.
